BACKGROUND
Carrie, a 12 year old girl, complained of right knee pain and pain in both of her legs for the last six years. She was told by her pediatrician that she was suffering from growing pains and that they would abate in time. An Orthopedic specialist recommended that she undergo physical therapy.
LIFESTYLE
Carrie was a thin, tall, underweight girl who led a mostly sedentary life due to the pain in her legs caused by exercise. Her diet was poor - low in vegetables, high in snack foods including: french fries and potato chips.
OTHER SYMPTOMS
Headaches, trouble falling asleep, difficulty getting up in the morning.
FINDINGS
Calcium deficiency, allergic reaction to potatoes.
TREATMENT
Structural: Spinal adjustments of the upper neck (cervicals), pelvis, lumbars and an adjustment of the right knee.
Chemical: Calcium Citrate, Omega Plus.
Lifestyle: Increase green vegetables, avoid potatoes.
RESULTS
Carrie was pain-free after five days.
COMMENTS
There is no such thing as "Growing Pains." These are instead a signal by the body that the developing bones are missing certain critical minerals. I have seen this over and over. Frankly, how medical doctors continue to disregard the importance of nutrition in the cure and prevention of disease, especially on a developing child, is perhaps the the most disappointing aspect of the allopathic model.
