Headache - Cranial Bone Misalignment
BACKGROUND
Denise presented with complaints of a constant headache for eleven months. At any given moment in the day, the pain can range from a four to a nine on a scale of ten. She states that she had always had headaches since she was a little girl that occurred every month or so. However, after becoming a teenager they gradually began to increase in frequency. Her past traumas included: falling off a horse as a child (age 9), and two motor vehicle accidents (ages 13 and 16).

LIFESTYLE
Denise eats a poor diet with high amounts of processed foods and sugars. She also drinks caffeinated beverages often.

OTHER SYMPTOMS
Fatigue, allergies to dust and pollens, irritability, menstrual irregularities.

FINDINGS
Cranial bone misalignments, nutritional deficiencies.

TREATMENT
Structural: Cranial bone corrections.

Chemical: Essential fatty acids, anti-inflammatory herbs, digestive herbs to soothe the small intestine.

Lifestyle: Eliminate caffeinated beverages, increase water consumption, and begin an aerobic exercise routine for proper fat metabolism.

RESULTS
Denise had a complete elimination of the pain from her headache in the office while a cranial bone correction was being performed – from an eight to a zero. After the treatment, the pain returned but only to the level of a two. Continued treatment at a rate of two or three times per month, resulted in a complete resolution of her pain after four months.

COMMENTS
In this case, Denise’s headaches were a result of misalignments in her cranial bones. However, simply making the corrections was not enough to keep the pain away. Her body was reacting to many years of trauma and chemical abuse (bad foods). Remember that the muscles of the body constantly adapt to various stressors. It is likely that as the muscles of the head and neck reacted to the internal workings of Denise’s body, they could not maintain a proper balance and therefore they pulled in an uneven manner on the cranial bones creating a misalignment. Once the volatile physiology was reduced through lifestyle and chemical corrections, the muscles of the head and neck ad nothing to react to and so Denise was able to stay headache free.
