Headache - Nutritional Deficiency
BACKGROUND
Kristin, 30 year old marketing manager, was experiencing headache daily for three months.

LIFESTYLE
Kristin is an active person with and outgoing personality. She works forty or more hours a week and exercises at least three times per week at the gym using weights and riding the stationary bike.

OTHER SYMPTOMS
A feeling of fullness after eating and occasional restlessness when trying to sleep. She also experiences cramping during her menstrual cycle.

FINDINGS
Cranial misalignments, nutritional deficiencies.

TREATMENT
Structural: Adjustments of the cranial bones and the bones of the upper neck, muscle rebalancing for the supportive muscles of the spine.

Chemical: Vitamin B1 (thiamin), essential fatty acids and soothing herbs to support the digestive system.

Lifestyle: Increased daily consumption of water and decreased consumption of coffee.

RESULTS
Kristin was headache free after three visits. She remained so as long as she was taking were thiamin. After six months she was able to stop the thiamin and switch to a multiple vitamin. Her headaches have not returned.

COMMENTS
Without question, the cranial and neck corrections were vital. However, without correcting the thiamin deficiency, it is unlikely that the headaches would have been fully eliminated. Thiamin is an important vitamin for proper adrenal gland function, proper blood sugar stabilization and in this case, for headache reduction. It is difficult to know what symptoms will occur in the presence of a nutritional deficiency. It is the job of your NK practitioner to correct whatever deficiencies are present and then let the body correct itself.
