Infertility - Difficulty Conceiving
BACKGROUND
Cindy, a 36 year old office manager, complained of difficulty getting pregnant. Eleven years earlier she gave birth to her only daughter. She subsequently went on the birth control pill for nine or ten years and had been off for one year. Each menstrual cycle she experienced severe PMS, often having to stay home from work and isolate herself from her husband and daughter because of strong irritability. Pain and bloating were also present at those times.
LIFESTYLE
Cindy ate a poor diet, often snacking on sugary foods at the office. She ate a large amount of processed foods and frequently missed meals. She did little exercise.
OTHER SYMPTOMS
Headaches, which are moderate to severe and occur once or twice a week; fatigue.
FINDINGS
Nutritional deficiencies, cranial bone misalignments, excess energy in the liver meridian.
TREATMENT
Structural: Cranial bone adjustments, neck adjustment, muscle rebalancing.
Chemical: Multiple vitamins and minerals, essential fatty acids, herbs to soothe the digestive system, herbs to detoxify the liver.
Lifestyle: Drastic changes in diet to include whole foods and protein at every meal; increased consumption of water; aerobic exercise to encourage a fat-burning metabolism.
RESULTS
Cindy had two menstrual cycles before getting pregnant. The first one was remarkably better with a significant reduction in irritability and cramping. The second was, “normal.” She gave birth to a healthy 8 lb. 4 oz. boy.
COMMENTS
Menstrual irregularities are one of the first signs in women that the hormonal system is out of balance. In this case, Cindy was not doing much to help her cause. A great many changes were needed and thankfully Cindy was willing to make them.
